This was a vintage year for the white kid opera glove; it was also the year that I first encountered the mousquetaire on the night of the College May Ball.

I will never forget that warm summer evening in 1985; of Rachel in her turquoise taffeta ballgown that hugged her slender figure and bared her long tanned limbs; of her shoulder length blonde hair that floated on the breeze as she laughed and danced and flirted the night away. But most of all I remember the long black kid opera gloves (a gift from her grandmother) that she wore all night, even when she wore nothing else. Ever since that night I have been a fan of the mousquetaire, and I'm sure you will too after viewing these images.
